Do you wanna inform any important news or message to your readers ? Here is a simple plugin, WordPress Announcement Plugin.
Download the plugin from : http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/announcement.zip
Go to Admin > Plugin > and activate announcement plugin. After that, go to options and select Announcement. By default the plugin will be inactive. You have to set your announcement and activate the announcement by checking ‘Active’ checkbox.
Never Forgot to Run the Announcement. By Default the Announcement will be inactive
Enough !!! You visitors can now see your announcement. It will be displayed only one time for a particular user .
(If you want to see the announcement again, for testing purpose, Clear browser cookies, or atleast cookies from your blog. Otherwise you have to wait another 24 hours to play the announcement again)
The plugin is created with cute design and animation. It will never interrupt your blog reader.

not working with wp 2.7..tested in IE and Firefox
I am unable to update this plugin.I got the problem like could create directory n something like that. What to do ?

but your plug-in only works with firefox (not in safari, ie , …)
how can i fix that?
I like the plugin very much! Great work. I noticed though that, on my most recent post I have an embedded video clip (using the Embedded Video plugin: http://www.jovelstefan.de/embedded-video/) and it overlaps a bit with the announcement page. If you check out my site, you will see it. It is not a big thing, just a minor annoyance. If you have any idea how to correct it though, I’d appreciate it.

not working.. i tried everything.. does it conflict with other plugins??
this works, you might think it doesnt because the default setting is white on white, just change the color in css and your fine.
Did you get the IE issue fixed in v1.1 . . . I installed it, but still getting a JS error! Please post an update to the status or code fix. Thanks

Hi, many thanks to your ideal plugins.. i have not tried it, but from the intro, I was thinking of a feature may you pls consider for future release..
if the admin could control how often the user could see the announcements, i.e instead of 24 hours, the admin could control that a particular user will only see the announcements once (or twice or weekly) in their life (via cookie or IP).. this way, I might not be annoying my users??

When the Announcement Plugin is active it will disable any NextGEN galleries you may be running.
Still having issues in WP 2.6, even with blankman’s fixes. How is the update coming along Sajith M.R? Looks awesome in Firefox, but if it errors for 80% of internet users . . .
WP 2.6.3-DE (German), Install of the plugin works fine. But if I want to edit a announcement, I get a problem. The link “Edit…” results in “page not found”. In the browser I can see the link, created when clicking on “Edit…”:

It looks like the links is not “translated” in the correct way. What can I do?
