New sound algorithm to create 3d effects in sound. You are femiliar with sterio, 5.1 surround etc things. But hear this mp3 using your head phones (head phone is a must). http://www.sajithmr.com/downloads/Barbershop.mp3
From this mp3 , you will get the feeling of a barber shop, and you are setting on the chair. If this mp3 makes you crazy ,it is nothing but cetera algorithm.
Starkey’s Cetera technology makes the hearing aid “invisible” to the brain. Cetera removes the barrier between sound and the brain’s ability to process signals. The Cetera technology is based on an innovative new algorithm- the complex mathematical formula that drives a hearing aid. Cetera’s algorithm can match the exact characteristics of the wearer’s ear. This customization removes the barrier that most hearing aids erect between the incoming sound waves and the data sent to the brain for processing.

Here is the full dialogs of this virtual barber shop:
Manuel - Hello there!Hello there! How are you?Yes, yes…You are here for the virtual haircut? yes, yes…ok… I will go and get Luigi. He will come and cut your hair… I’m Manuel, just stay right there.
Manuel – Luigi? (knock-knock) Oh Luigi? he’s present here for your virtual haircut. You’d better come up…..
Luigi – Grazie* Manuel, I’m coming right now.
Manuel – He’s coming up right now and me I’ll go over here and play music, play the guittar because that’s what I do here at the barbershop.
Luigi - Ah, it’s so nice to see you.Welcome to the Starkey Cetera Barbershop and our virtual haircut. I’d like to start the demonstration by moving over to your right hand side and picking up this bag. If you just hold still for a second I’ll put this bag over your head! Just like that..The bag over the top of the head…
And now, I’ll take the bag off. There we go.
The only reason I did that it’s because all of the fancy barbershop do that.
What you’re listening to is I move to your right here and very quickly wash my hands
Trimmmm-Trimmm (the phone is ring) Manuueeellll could you get that please? Oh, thank you Manuel. Let me finish washing my hands here… just bear with a few more seconds.
Ah, yes… As I was saying, all we are doing is using your head as the listening point… and we have two microphones one on either side of the head, in the same position as where your left and your right ears are.
Your brain is doing all of the work, telling you where the sounds are coming from… ok…I’ll go and get the scissors… Nice sharp
And now as I begin the clipping and I bring the clip close to your ear, very close to the right ear…folow me as I move around the back of the head… to the left ear…and up over the top of the head…okay. Now, you can get the same effect better with the eletric razer, I’ll first bring it to your right ear…And around the back… and on your left. I think that looks wonderful. Manuel, what do you think?
Manuel – Ah? Yes..Ah, yes…It looks wonderful Luigi! You do such nice work
Luigi – Oh, thank you so much Manuel.
Manuel – So fast too.
Luigi - Now, as I walk around I just want to tell you only once more that your ability to hear where I am as I walk around the room is simply the amazing power of your brain, calculating the tinny differences or cues in sound intensity and arrival time from two open ears and unlike any other hearing instrument, only one has the digital algorithm that negates on physical presence in the ear to fully restore those differences.
And that algorithm is called… CETERA.
Oh, thank you, thank you so much for stopping by the Starkey Virtual barbershop
Good bye and arrivederte*
Okay … Some more virtual mp3s

that’s incredibly amazing and awesome ! Move it to the TV !
I heard virtual barber a million times and i’m still not sick of it!
I could hear it so many more times!
That was excellent!!! I am thinking of future movies by listening only we can virtual imagine that it is happing around us.
I am waiting for more virtual mp3s
it was very spectacular.first time I heard barbershop i looked my around spontaneously , specially when barber put plastic bag on my head. wow I think this algorithm can change Movie industry and specially scary movies
thanks for this sweet experience that I tasted by my ears this time.
This could really take off as a form of entertainment!! I loved listening to the barber shop and imagining; it’s like reading except more.. sensual
send me moreee!

me and my family enjoyed Cetera Algorithm…
great work… hats off
I heard this and I was amazed! Is there any way to convert music to this format? Plz let me know if there is! That would be so amazing! Cetera is so epic. It will probably change the way we listen to music, TV, movies, videogames, ect. this is just Wow
This was something amazingly amazing.

AWSOME !
M LOVIN IT
Truly Amazing! Even I am making everyone around listen to this…
At first they think I am crazy… but soon they go around doing the same… cheers to Cetera
Hi! The Cetera experience is just awesome. I would love to have some information about the actual usage of this algorithm into music and films. Thank you so much for descovering this!
Hi!
That was great!
Who tell me where I can find more of sth like this mp3′s?
Send me links to my e-mail. Thx
It’s really amazing,I mean the sound quality of that virtual barber shop is so pleasant and wonderful. I used to hear that audio at least once a day. carry on creating such amazing algorithms and sound clips.
google “Holophonics” it’s amazing
Its just too good…Ive been making everyone I know hear this like crazy…
Is there a software solution to process 5.1 (or >) audio to this awesome only 2chanel format?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhh my god! I was about to cry when I first heard clip barber shop…I was so happy to listen this..may one of the greatest experience in my life….congrats for the creators of this work…
Hi, I need the email or phone number of the creators of virtual barbershop.
If you know how can I contact they please write me to this wall.
get this to the tv, video games, EVERYTHING. I don’t care if i need to where headphones this blows dolby 7.1 out the window and I don’t have to buy expencive equipment. this might also save us from having to change digital audio formats cause people want more than just sterio, mp3 works great with this. keep it up make it known get it out there and use bluetooth headphones to do it.
Hi, from what i saw, you record to a single file both the signals from left and right microphone to according trak (left and right) I just dont understand where you implement the algorithm. The quality of the sound is due to the type of mic you use, and the timings of the sound are there already. The only “thing” different is you used an human ear and a not very small room, right? Please get back to me with this!
Never the less, great job! Loved it!
It is awesome.. It is so like real. Who did the work? I’m dying to know.. Kudos!
Awesome, haven’t heard anything like this before.
Fantastic!
Very interesting, but what’s new here? I’d think you just use a set of special microphones (two?) to record and then play them in separate stereo channels. Maybe the trick is to use digital processing to enhance the stereo effect? Or use some sort of directional microphones…
The article on audiology online is dated by 1999. And I think this must be exactly what is used in 5.1 and similar systems.
Anyway, the sound examples are astonishing! I had to look back before I realized the sound comes from the headphones! =)
Hi,
I am a student working on Binaural Audio Processing.
Virtual Barber clip was a good way to explain Binaural hearing.
I want to learn more on Cetera Algorithm.
Hoping to hear from you
I recently heard 3 of ur productions, viz.,barbershop, voce & phon. I liked very much. PLEASE can u send me more of those. These things r superb & I think, this same effect should be used in movies & games.
Amazing, sounds wonderful!!!!

I have been studing sound for a long time. Many different people and groups have come up with several solutions to trying to make sound play back as accurate as possible. This algorithm and process has to be the best I have heard yet. I hope that we will start to see this used in many commercial products.
wow ! wonderful algorithm …. great experience … any more example to listen up?
Wow! That was one of the coolest things I have heard. But you need a good headset to appreciate it.
